The Hot, Long Summer.

"Summertime and the livin's is easy."

Or is it?

We are having an unusually hot summer Down Under. This is from ABC News Online:

For American readers: 50 degrees Celsius is 122 degrees Fahrenheit. Yes, 1-2-2: one hundred and twenty two degrees Fahrenheit. But we know, don't we, that there is no climate change/global warming. That's all bullshit the Chinese made up, yes?

But that's not all. The support system of our global spaceship is starting to fail and there aren't escape pods. No, I'm not talking about the Great Barrier Reef where things happen but nobody is there to see them happening.

This is something that happened last week at Bargara, just north of the tourist spot of the Sunshine Coast. And you can see things as they developed:

Again: 75 degrees Celsius is 167 degrees Fahrenheit. That's the temperature of the sand. That's hot, really hot, and I don't give a shit whether your heart bleeds for those critters or not.

The point is that they survived and thrived on those hot sands for millions of years. That they are dying now shows that those sands are becoming way too hot.

Maybe I'm being too pessimistic, but I think the capitalist ship is sinking. As I see things, the two questions are (1) what will be the ultimate cause of that, and (2) will we sink with it?

But perhaps I'm mistaken. What do you think?

Update:
12-02-2017. The heat still is on:

But at least feared NSW-wide blackouts were averted. State authorities were concerned electricity demand would outstrip supply, as people try to cool down:
